Kenya.
East Africa's fashion capital — a dynamic ecosystem of designers, artisans, manufacturers, and creative entrepreneurs redefining the region.
Country Overview
Fashion Law in Kenya.
Nairobi has established itself as one of Africa's most exciting fashion cities, home to a new generation of Kenyan designers gaining international recognition, a substantial textile manufacturing sector, a growing sustainable fashion movement, and one of the continent's most digitally engaged fashion consumer markets.
Kenya's fashion industry operates within a legal framework that, while more developed than many African markets, still presents significant challenges for designers and fashion businesses. IP registration processes can be cumbersome. Model rights are insufficiently protected. And access to specialist fashion legal expertise outside of Nairobi is extremely limited.
FLI Africa Kenya works with the local fashion community to strengthen legal literacy, improve access to legal support, and advocate for policy reforms that better reflect the needs of Kenya's rapidly growing creative economy.
